Every year, Alpen Schatz, with its unique European Pet AND People products, is invited to exhibit at one of the most prestigious dog shows in the World:

We have a booth, however the show is so large, that we need to recruit volunteers to help us - in exchange for entry to the show and a healthy Alpen Schatz gift certificate.

We need help for set-up on Friday and the National Agility Trials on Saturday Feb 14th, as well as for the actual Westminster Show on Monday and Tuesday Feb 16-17. Volunteer one day or all - whatever your preference. What counts is your enthusiasm and love of dogs and our Alpine Treasures.

There are almost 1000 entries over the week - one of the largest Specialties yet!

Visit Alpen Schatz at the Westminster Dog Show Feb 11-12, 2013

For the third year in a row, Alpen Schatz will be travelling to New York City for the Westminster Dog Show one of the World's largest and most prestigious dog show events.

The only difference is that THIS time, Alpen Schatz has been selected by the Westminster Dog Show Committee to have a booth INSIDE the main show hall (as opposed to having a booth at the Host Hotel as in previous years).

There is estimated to be 17,000 visitors attending the show each day...which will be the largest event in which Alpen Schatz has ever had the privilege of participating.

Alpen Schatz will be bringing many of its fine European Treasures for both pets AND their people. Featured brands that Alpen Schatz imports are the Classic Swiss Pet Products, the fine "riding" leather collars and leashes by HUNTER of Germany, and the fashionable pet accessories from La Cinopelca of Italy.

The event will be taking place this year on Piers 92 and 94 on Monday and Tuesday 11-12 February 2013. Hours are 8am-6pm each day.

TRANSPORTATION AND WHERE TO STAY

If you will be visiting New York for the show, The Westminster Show committee will be running FREE SHUTTLES to the Piers all day Monday and Tuesday from three New York City Hotels: The Hotel Pennsylvania, the Affinia, and the New Yorker - all located in the vicinity of Madison Square Garden and Penn Station. There is no obligation to reside in these hotels to catch the shuttle.

Alpen Schatz's hotel of choice  for this trip is the AVALON Boutique Hotel, just two blocks away from the Shuttle stop at the Hotel Penn. We chose the AVALON for four simple reasons:  1) Proximity to the Shuttle 2) Its GREAT reviews on Trip Advisor   3) Reasonably priced spacious rooms -up to 450sf - hard to find in NYC (see their great OFFERS to save $$$),  and 4) it serves a gourmet continental breakfast, including fruit, yogurt, deviled eggs, cold cuts, Danish, toast, bagels, cereals, juices, coffee, and an assortment of teas - a great way to start the day!

 

***Note that this hotel is for attendees without dogs, as they generally don't allow pets, but make exceptions from time to time with a pet fee.
