Hallo! My name is Nikolai...

or to be "official"

Oleka's Schneebär Nikolai Schatz

I was born on the Winter Solstice along with 9 other fine strapping baby Berner siblings. My breeder, Angela and Joe Evans - Oleka Bernese, lives in Oley, Pennsylvania on a real mushroom farm

so I got to learn true Berner work ethics from a very young age :)

When the time came, my new Mommy came out to meet me

 and I got the adventure of getting to fly on TWO airplanes 

to get me safely to my new home

in a snowy Telluride, Colorado.

I am a goofball at times, with extra large ears...

and extra large paws.

I love playing "coy" in the snow,

and helping my big Brother, DaVinci, out at

 our Swiss shop called Alpen Schatz

I tend to smile all of the time,

because I am a happy pup...

And my Mommy...

and others I meet

all seem to love me to bits

  

and of course me them back!

For Bernese Mountain Dog lovers from all over the world, the National Bernese Mountain Dog of America Specialty is Berner Heaven for a whole entire week. This annual show is free to the public, so come on down just to experience a day or an entire week of exciting Bernese mania.

Highlights of the 2012 Bernese Mountain Dog Specialty

This past May in historical Gettysburg, PA, Berner Lovers gathered from all over the globe to participate and be spectators in the 2012 Bernese Mountain Dog Specialty.

Alpen Schatz has been following the show around the nation and supporting this exciting event for 10 years now. We have a booth with our fine European Alpine Treasures which Berner folk love to purchase for their dogs AND themselves.

Announcing Alpen Schatz's brand new member: DaVinci!

DaVinci, a beautiful, Bernese Mountain Dog puppy, has recenlty come home with us to live in Telluride, Colorado and carry on the legacy of our amazing Alpen Schatz Bernese that have passed: Schlappi and Smokie Bear (RIP). His big brother Valentino Schatz is much happier to have a sibling in the household again, following the tragic death of Smokie Bear back in February, who he so loved and admired.

DaVinci was born from a fantastic Fort Collins breeder, Stacy Temples, whose kennel is called "Wagontale". He was one of 10 in his litter. His Mom is Wagontale's Yureka "Rikki" and Dad is Berntiers Sunshine Boss- "Viggo". He was born on 3/26/2012.

Baby "Vinni" has already been hanging out at the Alpen Schatz Boutique and loving all of the attention he is getting. He is very smart and already comes when called and knows "sit", "down", "wait", and is very enthusiastic and curious about everything.
